Private travel beta

Help and support

Contact the person who invited you using the contact details you already have. They can help with trip access and beta problems.

Signing in

Use your invited email address and password. If this is your first account, choose “Create account”, then verify your email using the message sent to your inbox. Check your junk folder too, and return to Twokulu to sign in after verification.

If you previously used an email sign-in link, you already have an account. Choose “Forgot password?” to set your first password for that same email. Use the same option to reset a forgotten password. Verification and reset links open a secure Firebase page; return to the app once you have completed that step.

Existing email sign-in links still work. Open one on the phone where you want to use the app. If it opens in a browser, choose “Open Twokulu app”. An expired or already used link cannot create a new session; you can sign in with your password instead.

A trip is missing

Each trip has its own approved email list. Ask the trip organiser to check the address you used and the trip you need. Creating or verifying an account does not add you to a trip.

Deleting your travel account

Open Your account while signed in. Enter your current password and type DELETE to confirm. This removes your shared sign-in from Twokulu and the original Cape Town 7 and South Africa 12 websites, ending access through that account on all devices.

Shared trip plans and game histories remain, as does your organiser’s invitation email. You can explicitly sign up again later if your invitation is still active. Ask the organiser separately to remove an invitation or personal information within shared records.

If your email is unverified, your invitation has been removed or you cannot sign in, this beta cannot complete self-service deletion. Contact your organiser with the email address you used and ask to delete your shared travel account. They will verify your identity, explain the effect on both original websites, and confirm the outcome. Do not send a password or verification code.

Shared expenses

Open Shared expenses from your trip. Add people or households, record a bill and choose who shares it. Balances and suggested repayments stay separate for GBP, ZAR, EUR and USD. “Record paid” is for a repayment already made elsewhere; Twokulu does not send money.

To correct a bill or repayment, open its Details and choose “Reverse this record”, then add a replacement if needed. The history stays visible to the group. If another member saves first, reload the latest balances before trying again. If a connection fails during a save, keep the form open and use “Retry this same save” to avoid a duplicate.

Trip documents

Inside a trip, open More → Documents to upload a JPEG, PNG or PDF up to 10 MiB. Whole-trip sharing is selected initially. Choose “Selected travellers and me” before uploading if the document should only be available to named travellers. Enter their invited email; they must already have verified their account. PDFs must have no password and at most 50 pages. Large or complex files may need a smaller copy. Previews do not open PDF links, scripts or attachments.

If an upload is interrupted, refresh the list before retrying. Keep the same file and form open to retry the same upload without creating another copy. Only the uploader can delete a document. A deleted document stops being available immediately; storage may retain a recoverable copy for seven days. Ask the organiser if cleanup cannot finish.

Something is not working

Tell the organiser which phone you use, what you tapped and what happened. A screenshot can help; leave out sign-in links, passwords, verification codes and private trip details that are not needed to explain the problem.

Progress and parent PINs

Progress and drafts are saved on this device. Clearing the app’s stored website data removes them, including a locally configured parent PIN. Account deletion clears this account’s Twokulu progress on the device used to complete it; it does not remotely erase other devices or the original websites’ separate stored data. Ask a grown-up to handle parent PIN problems.

Beta privacy · Back to sign-in

Private planning

Build stores your destination brief, dates, party counts, manually entered offers and optional British Airways Club Avios balance and valuation under your sign-in account. These are unbooked plans, not live prices or a connected rewards account. Profile exports your full private-plan data. Account deletion erases it and keeps a minimal deletion marker to prevent delayed saves recreating it. Shared trip plans, games and group expense records remain with the group.

If private plans are erased but account deletion cannot finish, Profile reports that partial result and allows a retry. The shared reviewer login can save synthetic plans in its own isolated account; anyone with that review login can see them.

During this beta, each trip has a lifetime limit of 250 upload reservations, including unsuccessful and deleted uploads. Deleting a file does not reset that limit; contact the organiser if the limit is reached.
